I vote for a calendar day reading on the rain gigue. it uses a 24 hour rolling time frame, you cannot set it to a calendar day, so comparisons with weather reports to check accuracy are difficult. My final comment is about the rain sensor reading. It is not removable, so instead of an 8 inch display, this one is over 12 inches wide.
